Today closes a significant chapter in my life. Since the fall of 2021, my work has required a lot of travel throughout the #midwestUSA . My truck and I spent thousands of miles a week being road warriors. Hotel stays throughout the week was a way of life for me. Today was my last typical roll out as I now am joining the team of desk jockeys.
That old way of life had its perks. Exploring other places. Groovy restaurants and breweries. Hotel points. Unaccountable time. Quiet, reflective drives. Loud blaring playlists.
It also had it’s trials. A phase of loneliness. Weight gain. Chaotic schedule. Not always available for the family in urgent or emergency situations.
Overall, I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life and in my career.

One of my favorite things to do is take a current teenager trend and then dadify it. Whether it’s a new term or new clothing. My latest hijack was the purchase of a Ditch hoodie which apparently is an item of gold at the moment. I’m pretty sure that I ruined its value to my son when I got mine first. 🤪

Anyone else have this feeling that Internet as we know it is coming closer to an end? Like, all it would take is a bombing of a few data centers and it’s all gone. Or the hacking of a few DNS registrars and all our domains start pointing to a different ip addresses?
