Apparently, in Hubzilla we can post an interactive game called Fediquest. Let’s see how this goes. You guess the word in a reply and my account replies with help. I have no idea how this will work, but let’s find out.

✅ I’ve added more insulation around water pipes in the basement to prevent freezing and breaking.
✅ I’ve got all the Christmas decorations down and out of the upcoming weather.
✅ I’ve found the ice melt and pulled out the snow shovels. Went out and bought some extra ice melt.
✅ I’ve ensured each vehicle has an ice scraper and brush. Each vehicle has a jump start battery pack.
✅ I’ve picked up a 15pk of Blue Moon and 4pk of City Wide Pale Ale from 4Hands Brewery. Also, verified I have plenty of coffee in the pantry.

I think I’m prepared for the snow and ice that’s coming.

I need to find a syncing encrypted journal software for Android and Linux that can be trusted. Needs to have the ability to work offline for those times I may not have good cell signal. I pay for enough stuff as it is, so looking for something free. I’ll donate later if I find it’s working well. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be great if I could use my YunoHost server or Nextcloud.

Phone Texting is insecure and unreliable. You might be thinking “texting seems reliable”, but it is dependent on a single device. Try losing your phone in a lake or simply let the battery die. Could you send a message from another device? No, deeming it unreliable. You might think “texting seems secure”, but it is not secure in all scenarios. It depends on who you are texting, what devices are sending or receiving the message, and all messages sit on your phone carrier’s servers in nonencrypted format. It also assumes a trust that Google, Apple, Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile and all the other companies related to texting are good stewards of your data, message content, location history, and contacts list. It’s hard to trust these entities while hearing about data breaches, big tech surveillance capitalism, and censorship they participate in.
