Today, I discovered Localdesktop. It installs a Linux desktop on your phone based on Arch. I’m installing it now. I think is going to do great with my Nexdock I ordered.

Stories like this is exactly why I run my own cloud and file storage.I have heard this same story too many times, sometimes it’s Apple, sometimes it’s Google, Sometimes it’s Facebook. But they end the same. 20ish years of photos, files, and precious moments lost and no one at these big companies to resolve it. Read it and then ask me how you can run your own hub. Even if your hub is a backup to your Apple/Google accounts.

I am writing this as a desperate measure.
As many of you know, I have multiple accounts in the Fediverse. I have tried Mastodon, Misskey, Sharkey, Streams, Forte, Friendica, GoToSocial, Pleroma, WordPress Activity Plug-in, and many I can’t remember 🤣. After testing these for a few years, I have found Hubzilla to be the best solution for me.
Many of those other accounts have been deleted. Some have been left open for redundancy or backups. Please note that this account will remain my main account and I will only check my other accounts once in a while.
These will be my two main accounts going forward.

I can say with the utmost certainty, though I spend hours upon hours driving and singing to the music, that my tone deaf vocals have not improved over the years. This is a scenario of where practice doesn’t always make perfect.
